Residential Admissions

Oesterlen Services for Youth welcomes referrals for its Residential Services programs. The referral process proceeds as follows.

1. A referring agency should send a packet consisting of a cover memo, social histories, past treatment records and notes, school records, and psychological summaries to Oesterlen's residential services admissions director, Angela Pumphrey, by fax (937-399-6609), or courier, or U.S. mail.

2. Within three business days after receipt, the referring agency will be contacted as to the apparent appropriateness of the client for admission to Oesterlen, or not, based upon the written materials. If the referral seems appropriate, an in-person assessment will be scheduled on Oesterlen's campus.

3. Following the assessment, a final decision whether or not to accept the client will by made in a timely fashion. If accepted, the referring agency will be advised as to the availability of bed space in the program to which the referral has been accepted. If bed space is not immediately available, placement on a waiting list shall be offered.
